Now may be a good time to expand or start a project management training program. The PMI Global Project Management Job Trends 2023 report states that despite disruption and uncertainty, project professionals continue to have strong opportunities to advance their careers. In addition, the most recent PMI Talent Gap report says that 2.3 million people will be needed each year to fill all project management-oriented positions expected to open by 2030. Project Management Institute (PMI) is the leading professional association for project management and the authority for a growing global community of millions of project professionals and individuals who use project management skills.

PMI has released new instructor-led, licensed content for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®. The CAPM is a globally recognized credential that is a first step in building a career as a project manager. Education requirements for this certification are a high school diploma and 23 contact hours of project management training. This certification benefits those new to projects with 0-3 years of experience. It can also be a beginning for those who want to continue to other PMI certifications, including the Project Management Professional (PMP)®.

PMI also offers instructor-led, licensed content for the Project Management Professional (PMP)®, Disciplined Agile® Scrum Master, Disciplined Agile® Senior Scrum Master, Disciplined Agile® Value Stream Consultant, and Disciplined Agile® Coach. Authorized Training Partners have an opportunity to resell PMI products, such as project management eLearning courses, as well as membership and certification vouchers through the PMI Reseller Program.

PMI Authorized Training Partners have exclusive access to PMI-licensed content and instructor training. Content management is maintenance-free. Partners may add case studies, learning activities, and industry-specific training information. The training material can be used for in-person and virtual, instructor-led courses. A PMI partnership enhances your programs' reputation, offerings, and visibility. If you are interested in learning more, reach out to channelsales@pmi.org.

PMI

We are experiencing great change, and with that change, there is a huge opportunity to upskill workers who have been displaced and those who need to learn new skills to stay current in an evolving workplace. As the future of work shifts, a growing number of people need training in project management and agile practices to meet global talent demands.

The Project Management Institute (PMI®) can help you reach and train this audience. Since 1969, PMI has been helping people build skills to get work done and drive global growth and innovation. PMI has equipped hundreds of thousands of people with the skills to adapt to our changing world, and they welcome new partners to help with this mission.

The PMI Authorized Training Partner Program is a network (hub) of people, resources, and offerings to help training organizations get visibility among PMI customers as approved training providers. This program gives partners the resources to stand out as training providers. Benefits include access to ready-to-use, PMI-licensed, and -approved instructor-led training content, high-quality training instruction, reselling opportunities for eLearning, and certification and membership vouchers. The program will give partners and their students a competitive edge in today’s project economy.

The materials are currently translated into English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, French, and German. In addition, PMI ATPs are pre-approved by PMI to offer Professional Development Units (PDUs), and PDU claims are automatically expedited for processing. On top of the licensed content for the learners, PMI partners value the PMI Train the Trainer program, which ensures that instructors understand the content and can meet the needs of modern-day learners.

The program offers two tiers: Premier and Basic. Both provide authorization to teach PMI-licensed content and the tools to support the training. The Premier package includes additional benefits to augment your training and opportunities to grow your business through exclusive access to RFPs and channel management support. If you wish to focus solely on supporting and training existing certification holders, you may offer Professional Development Unit (PDU)-only courses through the Basic tier.

In addition to offering live, instructor-led training classes, PMI Authorized Training Partners have an opportunity through the PMI Reseller Program to provide PMI memberships and exam vouchers for eight-core PMI certification exams, as well as provide access to online, on-demand PMI courses to their learners.
You can help supply project talent to this growing field by offering project management and agile training. If you are interested in learning more about the PMI Authorized Training Partner Program, please contact channelsales@pmi.org or visit the PMI website for more details.

    • Even though the title is different, this course is a successor to Project Management Essentials (Second Edition).
