CEO of Logical Operations Joins the National Cyber Security Alliance’s (NSCA) Board of Directors
May 6, 2015 Washington, D.C.

The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), a nonprofit public-private partnership focused on helping all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online, today announced that Bill Rosenthal, CEO of Logical Operations, has joined its Board of Directors. Logical Operations, headquartered in Rochester, NY, is a leader in the facilitation of instructor-led security training.

Rosenthal acquired Logical Operations in April 2012. He currently serves as CEO and spearheads the development of a robust portfolio of information security offerings. He provides ongoing strategic direction in the formulation of Logical Operations’ own information security certification development and establishes and maintains many strong partnerships with top certifying bodies in the industry.

Recognizing the need to increase awareness about online security issues, Rosenthal is known as a thought leader in the information security training world. From technical insights to training delivery best practices, he regularly provides expertise on the ways in which education can strengthen our information systems.

Rosenthal is well suited to support the Board of Directors’ efforts to plan and execute initiatives on behalf of NCSA. He joined Logical Operations in 1987 as vice president of sales and marketing and became president in 1992. As president of Logical Operations, he oversaw the leading supplier of computer training products worldwide and supervised the operations of Ziff-Davis University, the leading web-based computer skills site.

"Bill and the Logical Operations team clearly understand the dire need for awareness and education, both of which are basic NCSA tenets and vital to the world of cybersecurity,” said Michael Kaiser, NCSA’s executive director. “At a time when cyber threats continue to be a national concern, Logical Operations has identified ways to help keep online safety top of mind through programs that empower a digital society to use the Internet safely and securely. NCSA looks forward to a long-lasting, collaborative relationship with the organization.”

“Logical Operations is inspired by NCSA’s ongoing cyber safety initiatives. It will be a privilege to serve and support some of the world’s most influential experts toward the much-needed goal of cyber safety,” said Rosenthal.

With ongoing cyber attacks across a variety of industries and a critical lack in the promotion of cyber best practices, Logical Operation will debut Cybersecurity Awareness Week June 1 through June 5 to help fight cybercrime. The week is a national initiative aimed at educating end-users about the various ways that they can play a proactive role in combatting cybercrime. During Cybersecurity Awareness Week, participants will have the opportunity to join an educational webinar focused on pertinent security issues, a Twitter chat featuring key industry leaders and the new-to-market CyberSAFE class.

“We look forward to launching Cybersecurity Awareness Week to further the company’s steadfast commitment to this issue,” added Rosenthal.  “We have created several opportunities to enhance the public’s cybersecurity knowledge base with education and best practices as the driving forces. Our commitment will continue year-round as we work to collaborate closely with NCSA on a variety of ongoing programs.”
